Lights....camera....action!

Many of you will hit the road soon and cover some of the area 1-4 ARB events. Please take the time to introduce yourself to the Army families and the Adopt-a-Unit organizers. They are interested in meeting you and learning more about what you're doing. Even if you are just shooting stills, you might think about conducting some interviews for your project. Take some notes and listen for a good soundbite or quote you can use to convey the message.

Shooting

Shooting Exercise -
Great class last night.  Please keep in mind how you felt in front of the camera....when you're behind the camera interviewing someone.  Before you roll tape, consider the background of your subject, sound quality in the room or space and lighting.  And remember the film clips about finding story and voice for your project.

Thanks Amy -

A special thanks to Amy Bennett for sharing her insight and expertise about Army life, Family Readiness Groups and the 1-4 ARB. Please keep her comments in mind as you discuss the project with your team. There are so many great stories to tell. I challenge you to think creatively about how you can show and share the spirit of the families here on the homefront with the troops abroad.

Next week we will focus on visual elements of structure - shots, scenes and sequences. In the meantime, learn all you can about Family Readiness Groups and the 1-4 ARB. Also, please go through the producer training segments at current.com - these online units will give you some basic information. We will talk about this in class.
